Would ones that own Oculus Quest/Quest 2 still come to your VR Arcade(s)?

The situation with Covid-19 and the Oculus Quest 2 proves our path for the entertainment industry.

Part 1. Would ones that own Oculus Quest/Quest 2 still come to your VR Arcade(s)?

We agree that none of us are happy when doing business with Oculus. They don't have a clear path to support location-based entertainment like other VR headset makers. However, we can't ignore the fact that Oculus Quest and Quest 2 are two of the best within their price tag.

Along with the technology, the library of games, and the deep pocket from Facebook, Quest, and Quest 2 has a huge impact on the VR industry overall. Even with the Enterprise Edition of the Oculus Quest, the cost is still quite affordable, compared to the other competitors.

Oculus had already seen an impressive sale number with the Oculus Quest 1. As a result, the company went straight to the Quest 2 and also discontinue making the Rift. With an aggressive price tag and big marketing budget, Oculus Quest 2 is going head to head with other gaming consoles, PS5, Xbox.

Also, with the pandemic that speeds up tech adoption and the holiday season coming up, we can expect that the Quest 2 sale will perform even better than Quest 1. In fact, it already performed impressively with its Pre-Order.

As a game developer team that targets the VR-location-based entertainment industry, we always think about how our game can help businesses in terms of bringing more customers. One of the questions that we're facing with the success of Oculus is whether someone with an Oculus Quest/Quest 2 would still come to a VR Arcade.

After working relentlessly, we came up with the solution. With our MissionX game, players can now bring their own Oculus Quest/Quest 2 to your VR Arcade/Venue to play in bigger arenas as well as being able to access more weapons, game modes, and maps that they can't have at home.

We walk along with VR arcades and VR entertainment venues to promote the game among the VR community. Users can easily access our FREE single-player MissionX on SideQuest as well as being able to play free-roaming multiplayer 1 vs 1 in a small play area at home. It is one of the ways to promote the concept of free-roaming multiplayer VR to home VR users.

However, to access bigger maps, game modes, weapons, haptics, and tournaments, users will have to come to your arcade/venue. Not only that, we simplify the connecting process in less than a minute with 3 steps, (1) connecting to the local server/ WIFI; (2) calibrating for the arena; (3) connecting to the game with a game token.

Besides, the Covid situation had put hygiene becomes a very important part of our lives. For the sake of all VR arcades and the location-based entertainment industry, we hope it will end with the soon coming vaccine. However, things are uncertain and there might be customers who still fear sharing the headsets in public even when the pandemic is over.

And as we discussed at the beginning, the number of people that are getting into VR with Quest and Quest 2 will only increase. With this feature from MissionX, we hope to meet the expectation of those customers who own VR headsets and fear sharing the same headset in public.
